Zuiderzee cheese is made from the milk of cows that graze on the meadows of the coastal province of North Holland. The local sea winds that blow across these pastures help to give the grass there a light salty character.

The North Holland meadows have always been influenced by a briny countryside abundant with water. This gives the grass a much richer composition and the milk a fuller flavour.
Add to this the traditional preparation method and a meticulous maturation process and the result is a unique cheese: Zuiderzee cheese.
The ingredient for Zuiderzee cheese is 100% North Holland milk.
